Works like a charm!
I purchased this in Sept 2024 and it's still going strong in June 2025. Installation is easy (just watch a YouTube video). Definitely works as intended for the cost. I didn't notice any sort of odor.Something to note, my thermostat was also blown. I had replaced it with the one that came in this parts kit despite it saying it wasn't compatible (although it was similar) and it worked like a charm.

Fixed My GE Fridge Quickly
I bought the AMI defrost heater for my GE refrigerator, and it did the job perfectly. Installation was a breeze — everything lined up just right, and it took very little time to swap out the old heater. Once installed, my fridge was back to working like it should, with no more frost buildup or cooling issues. Great quality part and a simple, effective fix. Highly recommend it if your GE fridge is having defrost problems.

Fix your fridge first
Freezer coils frosted over. Checked defroster and showed signs of scoring and infinite resistance. Ordered the equivalent replacement. Appears to be successful repair. Did not use other devices provided.

Effective and great price!
Awesome, came.in quickly. And we fixed our refrigerator in 2mins. Great product. 👍 and super cheap compared to some stores. One store qouted us $70 for the part. Not even the day of. We got it on Amazon for 15? And delivered the next day. I'd say this was a win!

Prefect fit and price.
Perfect fit and works great. I was shocked that most of the online "appliance parts" places are selling just the heating element for $90+... insane.

Good for what it is!
Look. This thing is $16. The OEM part is $85. My fridge lasted 15 years before the heater broke. I bought this to tide me over for a few months while I look for another one. It does its job. If you’re in a similar situation, get this. If you want it to last a long time, get the OEM part.

This product worked for exactly 2 years before it broke. 6/23 to 6/25. It'd be nice to find a defrost coil that would last as long as the original did ,which was around 10 to 12 years. It's kind of a pain to have to defrost refrigerator and take everything out before it spoils and have to buy another one every two years.
