best game for 2.5 yo
I figured it was time for my 2.5 yo to start playing games and bought a bunch for xmas (Ants in the Pants; Acorn Soup; Hi Ho! The Cherry-O; a matching game) but none are nearly as perfect as this. It was super easy for him to grasp, game play is not too fast and not too slow, it’s cooperative, easy to set up, and no small pieces (a plus for my 10 mo who’s always intervening). The 2.5 yo loves to play it with anyone that visits (and loves to explain it too). Kids with a longer attention span will want to play a handful of times in a row, and kids with a shorter attention spay will be fine playing once. This pieces are age appropriate, well made (wooden fruit!), and not chintzy. Also the ending of this game is clear-cut and satisfying. Really perfect for a toddler’s first game.

Fruitastic game!
We got this game because our 2 year old always wanted to join when we played games but they were too advanced. This has been a great game that our entire family enjoys! It's very simple with large pieces and quick game play, all of which are a must with the short attention spans of little ones! Our kiddos enjoy throwing the die and trying to keep the birdie from eating the fruit. When the bird comes up on the die, they giggle and say don't get our fruit! It's been great because it also teaches lessons that games do, such as waiting our turn, playing the color rolled even if it's not the one that was wanted (and thus not cheating), and that we don't always win but we can play and try once more. This game is a winner all around and is played weekly.Update: After having this game for over 2 years it's been one of the most played with games that we have in our big collection of games! Kiddos ranging from 22 months up to 5 years enjoy it and so do the adults who play it with them. The game looks as great as it did when we got it. The fruit pieces have hit the ground more times than I can say but they haven't chipped at all. This game has been so durable and such fun to have in our rotation. One thing to keep in mind is that the pieces are made of wood so they pack a punch if hurled by a little one but we haven't really had a problem with that since the game play is so quick and keeps the kids engaged. I still love how big the pieces are because they can't be choked on, are easy for kids to grasp, and I'm not picking up tiny pieces everywhere! One of the other reasons this game is uniquely awesome is because it takes very little effort (not a lot of rules) but it's still fun so you can get straight into playing & having fun. Also everything fits in the box well and the box has held up just as well as the rest of the pieces. It's just a really great game!!

Best “first board game” for toddlers and fun for the whole family
My son absolutely loved this! The Easter bunny brought it to him. Super easy to follow and my son was able to set it up by himself after playing one time (he turned 3 in January). I highly recommend to anyone looking to introduce board games to their child. The pieces are extremely durable and made of wood (with the exception of the path and orchards). My son was able to pick up the object of the game very quickly and even taught my mother in law how to play it.

GREAT first game
This is a very good and interesting first game for children. The fruit pieces are solid wood in bright colors, the directions are simple and the game is fun and pretty short. No reading or counting needed, but does teach color-matching and taking turns. My 5-year-old grandson played with his 2-year-old brother and they both wanted to play over and over.

Perfect for your kid's first game
I bought this when my twins were 20 months old and they picked it up right away. It's very simple - all the players work collectively. You roll a die and collect the corresponding fruit from the tree. If the die shows the raven, the raven moves one step closer to gobbling up your fruit. Collect all the fruit before the raven reaches your orchard.Since you win and lose as a team, there's no pressure and no one feels like an individual loser. The fruit, the die, and the raven are made of solid wood - they're big, and easy enough to grasp for little hands. The other pieces are cardboard.I'd happily buy this as a gift for any toddler. It's a great introduction to gaming. My kids still play the game as they're approaching 5 years old. They've taught it to their friends. It's honestly one of the best early-childhood toys I ever bought for them. The replay value is high.

Excellent quality, must have for young toddlers
This is such a fun game for toddlers - a favorite of my 2 year old son. The materials are solid wood and study cardboard. The rules are simple enough for young children to understand and grasp the concept of taking turns and playing for a certain goal. The dice is big enough for small hands - because the corners are rounded, it rolls quite well, so we like to use the lid of the box to keep it contained. I've recommended this game to lots of toddler parents and they've all come back with high praise.
