AMAZINGLY good mic for the money!!
I've owned many mics over the years and this cheap Behringer sounds just as good as classic old AKG dynamics I've owned like the D202 & certainly performs WAY beyond what you'd expect for the small price tag of just £39.00 GBP. Frankly I wasn't expecting much, but saw it for a low price while ordering some other gear & though I'd try it. The results after using it in a pro session recently where VERY surprising! On guitar cabinet pointing directly at the speaker cone centre it yielded a very detailed and crisp clear sound recording, no doubt in part because of the built-in high-midrange/treble area boost this mic exhibits. I also mic'd up the guitar cabinet in that session with a ribbon mic off-axis to get a more fat mellow sound and the crisp edgy Behringer mic sound blends with the fatter ribbon mic sound perfectly to give me a wide choice of guitar tones in the final mix by adjusting the balance between the two (and that is before any EQ or other processing is used).I now would like to experiment with this mic further on guitar cabinet in different mic positions to see how it delivers off-axis from the speaker cone. I'd also like to try it on things like snare & toms to see what else it can do.A real surprise! I've never used Behringer mics before although I own quite a few other Behringer products including the UMC1920, ADA8200, SX2442FX mixer & a range of Behringer guitar pedals.Recommended!! I will now definitely be trying some of Behringer's other mics!

Cheaper effective alternative to the Sennheiser 609
Very good microphone. Rugged construction, comes with its own clip and a hard plastic carry case which is becoming less common now. Flat face means it’s suitable for micing amplifiers and cabinets, and it’s designed to minimise proximity effect so feel free to push it right up to the grille. I’m currently using it in a church to mic up an old tone wheel Hammond organ and it picks it up beautifully. Variable switch for low cut, high boost or nominal frequency response depending on what you want it for, feel free to experiment with it before adjusting your channel EQ. Excellent for a live application, also suitable for a studio application but true audiophiles will want to go for the Sennheiser 609.

Good value and adaptable
Sound quality is good - can be used for a number of applications including recording a live vocal, where it’s side address style is very useful (pop shield is essential though as this is quite a ‘hot’ mic). Seems sturdy enough construction and comes nicely boxed with its own mic holder. Most pleasing aspect is the clarity of vocal sound - quite taken aback by that considering this is a 30 quid mic!Very adaptable and a useful addition to my home recording gear.

Great and cheap solution to live mic for an amp
I wasn't expecting much for £40, but thought I would give this mic a try at a small live gig.I hung it in front of my little Pro Junior amp, and it was absolutely great, no issues at all. Will definitely use it live again, not sure if it has the quality for a studio mic, but in a live situation it performed perfectly.

Impressive
It sounds fine with a guitar cab. It compares reasonably with my Sennheiser equivalent in a live environment. The plastic construction seems solid. What's not to like?
