Makes a tough job easier
I have done many repairs over the years on my iPads. Removing the screen is the hardest part. If you’re not careful you can crack it or or damage the circuits underneath. Used in conjunction with a heating pad designed for electronics, this clamp makes the screen process very simple and save. Once you warm up the screen area with the pad, the clamp easily attaches to the front and back of the iPad. Turning the screw draws the arms with the attached suction cups apart, and carefully lifts the screen away from the glue strips. Must have even if you repair one iPad.

It works well. But you still need to understand what you are doing.
It works great. But it's not "magic". It is simply a convenient way to apply some tension as you separate the screen and body on a modern phone. This is not meant to "tear off" the screen. I tested this on 2 different phones. One had a satin finish back panel and required a strip of standard plastic packing tape on the back to hold suction. To seperate, use the anti-clamp to apply a SMALL amount of tension to a corner of the phone and gently heat. The corner comes up. Pic it and move on. It still requires patience. You still need to carefully heat the edge(s) of the phone to soften the glue. And you still need to carefully work your way around the entire screen with pics, moving the clamp as you go. BTW, IMO a light duty crafting heat gun works best for this, with or without this clamp.

Handy tool
This is an optional tool, but made the job of opening the iPhone case easier.

Works well. Tape over smashed screen takes repeated effort to keep this from popping loose.
Works ok. I found that for an iPhone with a severely cracked screen, when you place their sticker and use this it tends to pop loose. I haven’t tested on a non-broken screen without tape but will soon as I need to change the battery in my iPhone XS. The mechanism gives great control and they did an interesting design with the quick release. It works. Overall I’m satisfied but it could use a better approach than the tape for smashed screens though those aren’t easy and this did ultimately work it just took repeating several times and care.I liked this over the squeeze clamps because of the mechanical advantage and control with the threaded mechanism, and over a straight suction cup because of control. Phones are delicate so it’s important to be quite gentle with them.Ifixit is a great company so you can generally trust their products though they might not be the cheapest. You get something well thought out and the guides are excellent.

The product is good. But it didn't work the way I hoped. The seller is good and trustworthy.

Works under optimal circumstances
This tool is one you'll be glad to have when you need it. It works well in the single purpose for which it is designed - and under the right circumstances. If your screen is shattered, this tool is not going to help. It has a hard time keeping suction on anything less than a perfect surface. There are included "suction stickers" that are designed to assist with suction on an imperfect surface, but they did not work particularly well for me.The tool requires not only suction on the glass screen, but on the back of the phone as well. If you happen to have a metal strip adhered to the back of your phone for use with a magnetic holder, it is very difficult to maintain suction on the back (which is an integral part of this tool's design).I found that under heavy tension - like if your screen is really stubborn about coming off - the pivot points on the suction cups will cause the phone to twist in the holder, shifting the plane (or angle) of the phone to the suction cups to an awkward position. You may still be able to separate the screen from the phone, but more likely you will have to reset the position of the device.Bottom line: It is probably better than a suction cup with a pull ring, but not by much - and the price is quite a bit more. That said, I will be happy to have it as my first option for screen removal and move to option "B" if it fails.

Works very well!
Used this to help replace the battery in my iPhone 15 pro max. Very nice to have something constantly pulling on the front and back glass while you're heat gunning the phone.I will say that if you're back or front glass is broken, it will make it harder for the suction cups to stay attached. ifixit does provide assorted stickers to help with that but sometimes they just dont have enough coverage.Overall, very good product and would buy again if i needed to.
