A Great Shave for Down There (and Up Here Too!)
I recently bought the Gillette SkinGuard Razor kit and wanted to share my experience, especially for those considering it for shaving pubic hair. While the kit is marketed towards men for facial shaving, I found it to be an excellent option for pubic grooming as well. Here's what I liked:Reduced irritation: The key feature of the SkinGuard razor is its design to minimize irritation. It has a built-in guard between the blades that helps flatten the skin and reduce tugging. This is a major benefit for shaving pubic hair, which can be prone to irritation with traditional razors. In my experience, I've had no irritation, cuts, or missed areas while using this razor.Metal handle: The kit comes with a sturdy metal handle that feels nice to grip and provides good control during shaving.Value for money: The razor heads for the SkinGuard are identical to the Venus razor heads designed for intimate grooming. However, the SkinGuard kit is often cheaper, especially considering the metal handle.Things to Consider:Not marketed for pubic hair: Since this is not the intended use, it's always a good idea to be extra careful and follow shaving best practices for pubic areas.Overall, I highly recommend the Gillette SkinGuard Razor for pubic shaving, especially for those who experience irritation with other razors. The reduced irritation design and good value make it a great option. Please note: It's important to shave with a sharp blade and to replace the cartridge regularly to maintain optimal performance and minimize irritation.

shockingly good! great for sensitive baldies
wow! i had very low expectations given poor experiences with disposable blades in the past. i have curly part African hair and can get ingrowns easily when shaving my head. i’ve tried many many different kinds of razors and trimmers. so far the best have been double edged safety razors and Andis or Walsh outliner / detailer style trimmers.i tried this gillette out purely for travel as it’s difficult to fly overseas with DE safety blades. anyway cue my shock when it turns out this gave perhaps the best shave of my life. pretty darn close without being too close for ingrowns. zero irritation! no stinging when washing off shaving cream. no cuts or nicks which was super common for me when using single blade Bic “sensitive” razors. plus each blade has a slippery gel bar on it that helps tremendously. the third blade on the side helps with around the ears.this also worked really well for some “manhood” grooming… if you know what i mean lol.anyways if my experience sounds like yours, you gotta try it. the only downside for me is the refill price is high. just know that it might be worth it.ultimately this goes to show what a big company’s R&D department can pull off.

Excellent comfortable shave, but fragile.
This is a great razor in its own right. Very smooth and comfortable. But, it comes without a case. I set it on the counter, blade side down, and a few days later, when I picked it up, the lubricating strip tore out. It stuck to the counter. My previous Mach 3 razors, had a case that kept the head raised so it never touched anything. I now set it down with teh head up away from the counter, but I don't know how I'm going to travel with it.

SUPERB QUALITY
I found these to be excellent quality...precise cut without even need for cream or other lubrication. This company is a classic favorite for good reason. The quality and value are great.

Gentle and close shave
My story is like hundreds of other reviews: I’ve tried everything - soaps, moisturizers, gels, creams, blades, trimmers, etc. - but my throat and throat back of my neck always break out after face and head shaving. I’m 46 years old and this has been an issue since I was old enough to shave. The only effective solution I have found for my throat is to trim it down to the lowest stubble possible (0.4mm on my Philips Norelco Prestige Beard Trimmer), but that still leaves me wishing for a closer shave (I typically sport a beard or goatee). For the last 10+ years I have been using the Schick Hydro Sensitive on my head and a variety of other solutions on my throat (Norelco rotary shaver, Philips OneBlade), but continue to suffer from bumps and acne. If I let the hair grow out, the bumps go away, but if I grow too long, I get itchy and break out again. So, this Skin Guard blade was basically my last attempt before giving up and just keeping very short stubble on my face (and likely switching to a head shaver that won’t cut close enough but will do the trick). I used it on my head in the same way I normally do - with Edge Sensitive shave gel - first with the grain, then against. Surprisingly, it shaved just as close as the Shock, and I definitely felt like it was a lot easier on my skin. No cuts and no blood. Unfortunately, I can’t tell if the bumps I already had there were just made worse by shaving in general or if they were just still irritated from my last shave four days ago. I also shaved my throat (mostly with the grain) and cheeks (with and against) and used the blade edge trimmer (which was very effective and sharp). In the end, I agree that this is a gentler and close shave. But, whether or not it will completely eliminate razor bumps and acne for me remains to be determined.
